For you, yes. The two words get used for the same thing, cleaning hard surfaces with high-pressure water. The only technical difference is that some machines heat the water, and on residential concrete and masonry the result is the same.
Should I pressure wash my siding?
No. Siding gets soft-washed, not pressure-washed. High pressure can drive water behind the siding, strip paint and blow out caulk. A soft wash cleans deeper without any of that.
Which is better, pressure washing or soft washing?
Neither. They're for different surfaces. Pressure is right for concrete, brick and stone. Soft washing is right for roofs, siding, decks and fences, where high pressure causes damage. A good cleaner uses both.
What if a company offers to pressure wash my roof?
Call someone else. High pressure blasts the mineral granules off asphalt shingles, and those granules are what shields the roof from UV. You'll see them collect in the gutters.
